Craig Nichols is Vice President and General Manager of Channel 4 San Diego. Craig is responsible for the overall operations and production of Channel 4 programming. We are the home of San Diego Padres baseball, televise live high school and college sports, produce award – winning sports and news magazine shows, and highlight San Diego’s home town heroes with personal interviews.
With over 20 years experience in the broadcasting and cable industries, Nichols has managed programming, production and operations for television stations in Atlanta and Phoenix. In 2005, he joined Cox Communications as Director of TV Operations for Channel 4 San Diego, a role he held until he was named to his current position.
Prior to coming to San Diego, Nichols was the Director of Programming and Operations for WGCL, the CBS affiliate in Atlanta, Ga. He also served as Director of Television Operations and Technical Operations Manager for KTVK and KASW in Phoenix, Az., where he managed broadcast partnerships and sales rights with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Suns and other sports teams.
A native of Arizona, Nichols has a B.S. in Broadcasting from Arizona State University. He lives in Carmel Valley with his wife and three children.
